Norwegian Forest Cat

|

Although wild in appearance, the Norwegian Forest Cat is actually very affectionate and has a fascinating history that dates back over 4000 years to the Viking times!
They have particularly striking features and, although almost any coat colour or pattern is acceptable (except pointed, solid chocolate or lilac), the brown or sliver tabby are most common and are believed to have originally helped camouflage them in their native woodlands.
With a thick double coat featuring water-resistant guards hairs and a gorgeous triangular head with almond shaped eyes, many people find the Norwegian Forest cat hard to resist and, since they achieved pedigree status in 1930, have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity.
This beautiful breed is happy to stay at home as long it has toys to keep its mind occupied and a good scratching pole so it can indulge
its natural instinct to climb.
