Some people may jokingly call this cat 'E.T' but, in reality, the Devon Rex is an interesting and lovable cat.
This playful term comes from their bat-like ears, short, wide-cheeked face and fine sculpted body. They are quick to swish their tails about when they are pleased - and that's often - and have a natural inquisitiveness that only further enhances their pixie-like quality!
Another bonus in having this delightful cat as a companion is its low allergenic "poodle-like" coat that is both low maintenance and sheds little hair making it an ideal breed for people with allergies or asthma.
However, because this special coat does not give the same protection as a normal coat, these cats may need some assistance to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter!
In fact, to compensate for their lack of guard hairs, the Devon Rex has a slightly higher surface body temperature than other breeds - making them wonderful lap and foot warmers!
