Burmilla

The Burmilla is a striking cat to look at and it is hard to believe they are the result of an accidental mating! The Burmilla first appeared in the UK in the early 1980s after breeders began crossing Chinchilla Persians with Burmese cats.
Elegant but muscular, they boast long sturdy legs and a moderately thick, long tail. The head is a medium wedge, with large ears, a short nose and large expressive eyes.
Thanks to a recessive long-haired gene inherited from the Chinchilla, long-haired kittens are not uncommon. However, this long coat does not tangle and requires little grooming.
Less demanding than the Burmese, yet more outgoing than the Chinchilla, Burmillas are great companions that are never too far from the action. Their easy-going and relaxed nature makes for an affectionate and ideal family pet and companion.
