While Abyssinian may look a little wild, they are in fact quite enchanting and are thought to have been worshipped by some cultures long ago.
'Abbys' are highly communicative cats that love being with their human companions. In fact these cats are really quite affectionate and have been known to become quite depressed when left alone for too long.
They are usually of medium height, and have an unusually coloured coat of tawny brown with black or dark brown ticking, but don't be surprised to come across one with a variety of other colours including copper-red, warm blue-grey, fawn and silver.
Usually sweet-tempered, lively and jovial, Abyssinians are ideal family pets that are at their happiest just being where the action is.
